Re:            Recent health concerns in our area

Due to the recent diagnosis of the Ebola virus in Dallas, we want to assure you that there is currently no reason to believe that the situation presents a health concern at our office.

We want to remind you that at the office of H. Peter Ku, D.D.S. PA the policies and protocols are ALWAYS in place to assist in keeping our patients and team members healthy and safe and to prevent the spread of illness in our office.

Our normal, precautionary health standards are as such:

  • If a patient has fever, they must be fever free for 24 hours before being seen in our office (without the use of fever reducing medication).
  • If a patient has diarrhea, they must be diarrhea free for 24 hours before being seen in our office (this means without the use of diarrhea suppressing meds.)  Diarrhea is 3 or more episodes of loose stools in a 24 hour period.
  • A patient must not have nausea and vomiting 2 or more times in 24 hours.  A patient should have 1 or 2 meals without vomiting before being seen in our office.

In addition, our team has strict guidelines they follow in the cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing of our instruments, equipment and building.

We have been in contact with the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and no changes to our normal protocol have been recommended.  Please rest assured that we will communicate any guidelines or precautions recommended by them that need to be taken in the event of a public health issue.
