“I could have missed the pain, but I’d have had to miss the dance…”
Those words took on new meaning for a stadium full of Garth Brooks fans when the country music superstar spotted Teresa Shaw in the audience last Friday night. Teresa, who just finished her 13thround of chemotherapy, was holding a sign that that read “Chemo this morning. Garth tonight. Enjoying the dance.”.
Brooks, who lost his mother and sister to cancer, signaled to have her brought up to the front of the stage. He then walked into the crowd and serenaded Ms. Shaw with a personal chorus of her favorite song.
“You have my strength,” Brooks told her. “You have everyone’s strength in here.”
