We Love Local: A Last-Minute Fort Worth Gift Guide
Believe it or not, Christmas is less than a week away!
And if you’re like us, your shopping list is not quite complete. Internet orders are sketchy at this point, delivery-date-wise, and malls are frankly terrifying this time of year. Plus, who wouldn’t rather give their holiday dollars to local business owners?
We’ve put together this gift guide to help with all of your last minute shopping needs. Whether you’re buying for a teen, a friend, or your beloved husband (who definitely does not want socks or a tie, you’ve checked), read on for our suggestions below and let us know if we forgot anybody!

This eccentric little gift shop inside inside Fort Worth’s Modern is packed full of quirky gifts for the young and old alike. There’s the usual selection of fine art books and Modern totes, but they also sell things like hand-folded paper crane earrings and Tim Burton playing cards (pictured above). If you’re looking for a gift for a hard-to-shop for niece or nephew, or maybe your super-artistic college roommate, you can’t do better than the Modern.

This Ft. Worth boutique started out as as a small candle shop. They still sell their handmade candles, but these days, they’re so much more. Clothes, bags, and luxury skin care items are all on offer at very reasonable prices – despite the competition they face from online retailers. Anyway, when you shop for candles online, it’s hard to sniff it first.

This still-brand-new boutique already has a huge local following – and for good reason. It’s just clothes (and shoes, and handbags), not gifts, but they are beautiful clothes (and shoes, and handbags) Even better, they’re not crazy expensive, though you can drop some serious cash here if you try. The perfect gift stop for your sister-in-law, your best friend, or maybe just yourself.

Here’s another Fort Worth institution, located smack in the middle of Sundance Square. We’re always surprised when we’re reminded that this little shop just celebrated it’s 25th birthday – the inventory feels as fresh as the first time we went in. Check it out for great, affordable jewelry (earrings start well under $20), gag gifts, and local crafts.

Gorgeous, fresh, fun. The boutique is for the fashionista is your life. Clothing prices range from around $50 to well, something more than that, and their inventory is completely cutting edge. Make sure to set a budget – it’s way too easy to go wild in here. Technically, it’s a mini-chain with origins in Austin and another location in Little Rock, but we don’t care. On the list.
